Choose from among these three problems:

• Problem 1 – Multiples of 3 and 5
• Problem 5 – Smallest multiple
• Problem 6 – Sum square difference

Last lecture we introduced while loops as a means to repeat code’s execution without having to repeat the actual code. While while is very, very powerful, I don’t use it all that often. Instead, I mostly use its cousin for. We’ll try at hand at solving some problems today using for loops:

• printing the alphabet
• character multiplication
• fill down
•  indexOf
•  lastIndexOf
•  substring
•  replace

After we work through a few examples, I’ll throw String.indexOf back at you. With a partner, complete this Program This:

Write a static method indexOf taking two parameters: a String and a char. Return the index where the char first appears in the String. If it doesn’t appear, return -1. Don’t use String.indexOf.
