Note

Pilots don’t just swerve around mountains, falling meteors, and enemy fire. They also do tricks. They loop de loop. They spiral around (inadvertently triggering tornadoes). So it is with our computer. Some processes are repetitive. Instead of expressing a step multiple times, we can wrap it up in a loop and let the process continue until some criteria is met.

Today we examine the while loop. (There are several kinds, but the difference between them is largely one of convenience.) It has this form:
