Aphasia minutes from 2012/09/19

  1. Heather met our focus group and got some good direction, which she outlined in the document she emailed to us.
  2. Passwords versus icon sequences not so important, as long as logins can be retained.
  3. My Story/Diary will be a flow of posts, which can individually be shared with any or selected other members.
  4. Events calendar on wish list and back burner.
  5. Top-level menu: diary, others’ diaries, questions, and conversations. Does this last item imply comments now?
  6. Dictation is key. Looked in Nuance, got overwhelmed by our deadline. Looked again. iPhone 4S and the new iPad support dictation out of the box:

    iOS takes dictation.

Here’s another amazing way to get things done: just use your voice. Instead of typing, tap the microphone icon on the keyboard. Then say what you want to say and Siri listens. Tap Done, and your words are converted to text. Use dictation to write messages, take notes, search the web, and more. Dictation also works with third-party apps, so you can update your Facebook status, tweet, or write and send Instagrams.

Need to get hands on a device. (Chris)

  7. Users need a public blurb/description, though diaries can be private.
  8. Direct message is needed? How is it incorporated? (Heather)
  9. Storyboards needed to drive our requirements. (Heather, Hannah)
