Rejection from SIGCSE Special Projects
I submitted a proposal for a SIGCSE special projects grant to develop tools for producing text movies. They were gracious enough to express sorrow, a kind and noble move.
Thank you for applying for a SIGCSE Special Projects grant. We have finished the May round of proposal reviews, but unfortunately we aren’t able to fund your project “Keystrokes: A System for Capturing Textual Development in Video-Based Learning.” The reviewers found the proposed system interesting, but weren’t convinced that the problem it addresses can’t be adequately worked around in other ways or through other development environments. If you want to revise the proposal to discuss the need for the system and why alternatives don’t work in more detail though, we would be happy to review the revision in a future round.
Thanks again for your proposal, and I’m sorry I don’t have better news for you. Let me know if you have any questions.
